A practical pathway into AI-era systems work.

Don’t train for the jobs AI is replacing.
Train for the jobs AI is creating.

AI makes software easier to create. It does not make business systems safe, connected, observable, or recoverable. BSSI is building training, practical assessment, research, and competency infrastructure for the people who make those systems work.

THE OCCUPATIONAL THESIS

AI is changing where technical work happens.

As businesses adopt AI-enabled applications, automations, agents, and workflows, the hard part is often not generating software. It is making systems work together under real-world constraints: permissions, customer data, changing processes, partial failures, unclear ownership, and the need to recover safely.

BSSI calls the emerging technician-level capability domain Applied AI Systems Technology. The work exists today across IT support, SaaS administration, implementation, automation, operations, and systems integration. We believe it may become more legible—and more important—as intelligent systems proliferate.

A PRACTICAL TECHNICAL PATHWAY

Applied AI
Systems Technician

Not a prompt engineer. Not a software engineer by default. An operator of the complex AI-enabled systems that real organizations need to deploy, connect, supervise, troubleshoot, and evolve.

Explore the role
01 / Deploy

Turn a proposed tool into a working, documented business system.

02 / Diagnose

Trace failures across data, identity, integrations, and workflow state.

03 / Restore

Recover safe operations with evidence, verification, and clear handoff.

LAB 01 / CASCADE MECHANICAL

This is your classroom.

You are not given a tidy exercise. You inherit a business system in distress—with evidence, constraints, and consequences.

BSSI labs simulate the judgment work behind dependable business systems. AI is available as a tool—but the student is accountable for the evidence, decision, and verified outcome.

COMPETENCY, NOT HYPE

Build a body of work that can be examined.

BSSI is developing a public competency framework, practical lab evidence, and assessment methods. This is early infrastructure—not an established license, accreditation, or government-recognized occupation.

Explore the framework
01Systems mapping

See dependencies, state, owners, and boundaries.

02Integration & automation

Connect systems deliberately and inspect what changes.

03Operational diagnosis

Use logs, evidence, and disciplined hypotheses.

04Safe change & recovery

Protect authority, data, continuity, and trust.
